Application Procedure of the CHQ Junior Scholar Program (2023-2024)
Interested students should provide their personal information and submit their application materials to application page by March 31, 2023. Application materials should include the following:
1.Cover letter stating research interests and long term career goals
2.Curriculum vita
3.Letter of support/recommendation from current doctoral program advisor
4.One sample of scientific writing (e.g., publication, class paper, etc.)
5.Academic graduate transcripts(student copies accepted)
The format of the documents can be *.docx, *.doc, or *.pdf
All completed applications will be evaluated by the CHQ faculty based on admission criteria. Following Junior Scholar notification and acceptance into the program, their enrollment will begin on May 16, 2023. Women, minorities, individuals with disabilities and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply. Students who have previously been named CHQ Junior Scholars may reapply for funding each subsequent year (Junior Scholars may be reappointed but there is no automatic renewal appointment).
If errors occur for online submissions, applicants can alternatively submit their application materials (as a completed package) to Dr. Cheuk Chi (George) Tam ctam@mailbox.sc.edu by March 31, 2023.
