Trang Nguyen (Social Work)
Trang Nguyen is currently a PhD candidate at the College of Social work. She is also a junior scholar at the CHQ under the supervision of Drs. Li, Beyer, and Ostermann. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University. Her research interests include mental health problems, such as depression and dementia, among older adults and their family caregivers. She is also interested in culturally competent and community-based interventions, such as Buddhism-based interventions, for older adults with mental disorders. She is currently working on a systematic review project on stigma toward patients with dementia and their families; and a qualitative project on the adjustment process of Vietnamese family caregivers to their caregiving roles for older adults with dementia.
